The Blank Page and How to Face It!
Art Challenge: Under Paper (paper on your work table that gets all inky while you work)
Journal Prompt: What Lies Beneath?
I started by untaping my brown paper bag under paper from my desk. Since the paper was very thin, I modge podged it to both pages. While the glue dried, I tried to find a quote about “underneath”. I found a powerful one; “It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me”. Seems like a good reminder that we should value ourselves on who we truly are on the inside, not what people see on the outside. I decided to also use my extra papers I put under my pages when painting the edges as under paper usage. I cut them into circles for using as flowers. I glued them on with stems then painted them. With my big Pitt Brush Pen, I drew in the flowers petals. The background was painted blue and I used some small cloud stamps I had to stamp on top. I rubbed some green acrylic paint at the bottom for grass for my flowers and used a grass like stamp on top of that.
All in all, I like how this one turned out! I love experimenting with new ways to make flowers in my art.
