Art Challenge: Focal Point vs. Layering*
Journal Prompt: Time keeps on ticking
Earlier I got my under paper wet and tore a hole in it. I decided to take it up and do a BIG flower to be my focal point. I drew a flower with my big brush pitt pen then cut it out. I traced in pencil about where I wanted it to lay on my page. The ephemera I used in this spread is old book pages. I cut the words in strips and had them shoot off of the flower. I used Mod Podge to attach them to the paper. When they were all glued down, I used the Mod Podge to adhere the flower. I used a credit card to flatten the flower. I painted the flower with pink acrylic and the center with yellow acrylic paint. My fun new supply Posca Paint Markers were used to make the lines in the center of the flower. I used three shades of green to water color over the words.
I love using under paper with light acrylic colors painted on top of them. The scribbles and what not that show through give it a little something.
