Art Challenge: Photos and Words
Journal Prompt: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
I got my inspiration from Lorraine Bell‘s page for this prompt. I liked the idea of creating a Polaroid from an old picture in a magazine.
I found a four images from a vintage magazine and cut them into squares.
I used heavy gel medium and covered the images in a thick layer.I then laid the images face down onto thick paper and waited for them to dry.
While they were drying, I used white and blue paint and scraped
it on with a credit card.
I used my heat tool to speed up the drying process.
When my background and “Polaroid” pictures were dry,
I brushed the heavy gel medium over all the photos
to give them a glossy look.
For my finishing touches, I found some black photo corners in my stash
and added them to all of the photos. I used glue dots to adhere them to my page.
