Journal Prompt: Take Me Away
I tried making a video for this one with my phone but it apparently did not work.
As I’m making these journal pages up, July 4th had just passed. While waiting for it to get dark, I started to draw the people and scenes that I saw from our blanket in the sun. I thought a couple of these drawings mixed with some pictures would capture this prompt perfectly.
I started with a gessoed page. I picked two images from my collection from that night that I liked best. I used Dylusions Spray Inks in two of the corners so that when I glued down my sketches, they wouldn’t run into the background and get lost. My drawing of the ferris wheel looked a bit like a post card so I marked a black line around all the edges. I used water color to paint both the ferris wheel and the woman.
I printed photos from my phone using my Selphy Canon Printer. I cut them out and attached them to different types of tags. I glued those down to the page.
I journaled about that day in all the blank spots using a Faber Castell Pitt Pen.
